RBC Wealth Management names Daniel Soo Singapore Private Banking Head
RBC Wealth Management Asia appointed Daniel Soo as its Singapore Private Banking Head, alongside seven new team members across its Singapore and Hong Kong operations.

New Leadership for Singapore Operations
RBC Wealth Management Asia announced on 15 October the appointment of Daniel Soo as Managing Director and Head of Private Banking for its Singapore operations. Mr Soo will focus on executing RBC's private banking strategy in Singapore, aiming to expand the client base and deepen existing relationships throughout key Asian markets.
He initially joined RBC in 2024 as Market Head and has since been instrumental in growing the Singapore private banking team, according to the firm. Mr Soo brings over three decades of experience from the industry, including previous positions at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Standard Chartered Private Bank.
Seven New Hires Across Key Hubs
The firm also welcomed seven new team members across its Singapore and Hong Kong offices. In Singapore, Patrick Foo joined as Executive Director and Team Lead, following senior roles at Citibank, UBS, and Standard Chartered Bank.
Jason Yuan was appointed Executive Director, with prior experience at CTBC Bank Singapore, Bank Julius Baer Singapore, UOB Private Bank, Credit Suisse Singapore, and Standard Chartered Bank Taiwan. Sam Polson also joined as Executive Director from Barclays Private Bank in Singapore.
Audrey Neo became a Director, having most recently worked at CTBC Bank Singapore, while Louisa Wen joined as an Associate Director from Citibank IPB Singapore.
Hong Kong Additions and Regional Presence
In Hong Kong, Jackson Huang joined as a Director from Bank J. Safra Sarasin, with earlier roles at DBS Private Bank, Julius Baer, and Goldman Sachs. Malcolm Chai was appointed Associate Director, moving from UBS Hong Kong. RBC stated it is the sole Canadian bank offering a comprehensive suite of wealth management services across Asia.
Its booking centres in Hong Kong and Singapore serve clients across Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
This expansion by RBC Wealth Management signals intensified competition for high-net-worth clients across Asia. The strategic hires, particularly in Singapore and Hong Kong, indicate RBC's commitment to capturing a larger share of the region's growing private wealth.
Other international and local private banks operating in these key markets will likely face increased pressure to retain talent and client assets, as firms like RBC bolster their regional capabilities and service offerings to meet evolving client demands.
