LHN Enters Eldercare Market

LHN, a company listed on Singapore's mainboard, has initiated Jubiliv, a new eldercare service within its facilities management portfolio. The programme begins with a pilot of five units designed for seniors at a property located at 31 Boon Lay Drive. This initiative, announced by LHN on 21 October, aims to provide a comfortable, independent living environment for older adults. The service integrates essential caregiver assistance and medication management directly into a home-like setting.

Technology-Enabled Support

Jubiliv's units incorporate "gerontechnology solutions," according to LHN, blending technological support with on-site care. These features include artificial intelligence-powered fall detection and emergency call systems, enabling care associates to monitor residents' well-being.

This technology ecosystem supports safe, independent living and offers peace of mind for residents and their families. Jess Lim, LHN's group managing director, stated the service addresses a gap between clinical nursing homes and unaffordable assisted living options in Singapore.

Expansion Strategy and Group Portfolio

Beyond the initial Boon Lay site, Jubiliv plans to expand its presence through a combination of partnerships and property strategies. These include collaborations with hospitality operators and landlords, alongside direct property investments.

LHN Group operates three other business segments in addition to facilities management: property development, space optimisation (under brands like Work+Store and Coliwoo), and energy (LHN Energy). The group maintains business operations across Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

Why it matters

LHN shares saw a positive market reaction on 21 October, closing 3.4% higher at 45 cents following the announcement. This new offering positions LHN to tap into Singapore's growing demand for eldercare solutions, driven by an ageing population.

Investors in the real estate and healthcare sectors will watch how LHN's hybrid model performs, particularly its ability to scale through partnerships and direct investments. Success could encourage further capital deployment into technology-integrated senior living facilities across Southeast Asia.
