China's Export Demand Accelerates

China's National Bureau of Statistics reported Q3 GDP growth of 4.5%, showing a shift from economic stabilisation to capturing global export demand. This expansion reveals strong international interest in industrial equipment and artificial intelligence (AI) hardware.

The increased shipments are bringing specific Chinese manufacturers into sharper focus, particularly those integrated into global technology supply chains. This trend also exposes other firms to ongoing policy and trade risks, creating a bifurcated market landscape for exporters.

Key Manufacturers See Increased Attention

Shengyi Technology Ltd (SHSE:600183), a producer of copper clad laminates and printed circuit boards, sits at the core of this export surge. The company, with a market capitalisation of CN¥278.4 billion as of 19 October 2026, supplies essential substrates for global electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, communications, and AI hardware across America, Europe, and Asia.

Foxconn Industrial Internet (SHSE:601138) also benefits, manufacturing 5G gear, cloud servers, and automation hardware for international clients. Its latest earnings report indicates rapid growth in both earnings and revenue, with its market capitalisation standing at CN¥948.2 billion as of 19 October 2026.

ASMPT's Role in Semiconductor Assembly

ASMPT (SEHK:522), a designer and seller of semiconductor and electronics assembly equipment, links Chinese manufacturing capacity to global chip demand. The company's market capitalisation was HK$57.9 billion as of 19 October 2026.

ASMPT's latest earnings report shows HK$8.7 billion from Semiconductor Solutions and HK$7.7 billion from Surface Mount Technology Solutions for the fiscal year ending September 2026.

Its tools are critical for factories building AI hardware, high-end chips, and advanced electronics worldwide, positioning it to benefit from the sustained demand for advanced packaging driven by AI applications.

The So-What for Asian Supply Chains

The robust Q3 export performance in China highlights a deepening reliance on Asian manufacturers for advanced technology components. Companies like Shengyi, Foxconn Industrial Internet, and ASMPT are central to this trend, providing the backbone for AI and industrial hardware.

Investors and businesses should monitor upcoming Q4 export data and these companies' next earnings reports for further indicators of sustained demand. This will reveal whether the current momentum translates into long-term order book expansion and margin growth across the regional supply chain.
