Utssav CZ Gold Jewels Board Backs 1:1 Bonus Share Issue
The Indian jewellery firm seeks to double its outstanding equity to 5 crore shares and raise authorised capital to ₹60 crore, subject to shareholder consent.

Bonus Issue Details
Utssav CZ Gold Jewels' board approved a 1:1 bonus share issue on 23 October. This plan, pending shareholder and regulatory consent, would allot 2.5 crore new shares. The move would double the Indian jewellery maker's outstanding equity to 5 crore shares from 2.5 crore. Consequently, the company's paid-up equity capital would rise from ₹24.998 crore to ₹49.996 crore.
These bonus shares are to be funded by capitalising securities premium, free reserves, and retained earnings as of 31 March 2026. The record date, which determines eligible shareholders, is yet to be announced.
Authorised Capital Expansion
Alongside the bonus issue, the board also endorsed a proposal to increase the company's authorised share capital. This would raise the limit from ₹24.998 crore to ₹60 crore. The revised capital would comprise 6 crore equity shares, each valued at ₹10.
This expansion, also requiring shareholder approval, aims to provide additional capacity for the company's paid-up share capital to grow following the bonus share distribution. Eligible shareholders are expected to receive their bonus shares within 60 days of the board's initial approval, once all necessary clearances are secured.
Recent Share Performance
Utssav CZ Gold Jewels manufactures, wholesales, and exports lightweight jewellery, primarily using cubic zirconia and gold casting. The company's shares closed at ₹930 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, 30 October, registering a 2.21% decline. Despite this recent dip, the stock has shown significant appreciation over the past year, climbing 268.68%.
Year-to-date, its value has increased by 317.23%, with a monthly gain of 23.97%. However, it has experienced an 8.31% drop over the last week.
Investor Considerations
A 1:1 bonus issue means investors receive one additional share for each share they hold, without further payment. While this doubles the number of shares in a portfolio, it does not inherently alter the total value of an investor's holding or their proportional ownership in the company. Share prices typically adjust downwards to reflect the increased share count.
Investors will now monitor for the announcement of the record date, which will define eligibility, and the final shareholder and regulatory approvals for both the bonus issue and the capital increase. These steps will clarify the effective date of the corporate action for India's equity markets.
