TCEB Drives Shenzhen Engagement

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) organises the "MEET Thai PLUS 2026 Shenzhen" event this September. Over 100 Thai public, private, and educational organisations will showcase products and services.

The event, scheduled for September 9-10 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre, targets at least 1 billion baht (US$27 million) in trade and investment revenue. This initiative demonstrates TCEB's commitment to strengthening business relationships with China. It represents TCEB’s largest and most comprehensive overseas market engagement platform to date.

Broad Industry Focus and Strategic Location

The fair will cover 7,500 square metres, featuring diverse Thai industries. Participating government bodies include the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Board of Investment. Several Thai universities will also present programmes to attract prospective Chinese students.

TCEB selected Shenzhen as the host city due to its location within China's Greater Bay Area, a central hub for investment, technology, and innovation. This strategic choice aims to maximise exposure for Thai participants seeking Chinese market access and partnerships.

Networking and Collaboration Initiatives

The programme includes knowledge exchange conferences, business networking, and matching sessions. TCEB expects 1,500 participants, including 1,000 business-to-business (B2B) delegates, and forecasts at least 800 business matchings. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing will foster China-Thailand business cooperation in innovation, technology, and exhibitions.

JD.com, Lenovo, and several drone development businesses have already secured registrations, indicating strong interest from key Chinese players.

Why it matters

This event provides a direct conduit for Thai businesses to expand their reach into the Chinese market. For Chinese investors, it offers curated access to Thai partners across multiple sectors. The focus on technology and innovation partnerships supports Thailand's economic diversification goals.

Increased trade and investment flows from this fair could support specific Thai export sectors. This engagement also reinforces Thailand's position as a key regional partner for China, driving future bilateral economic initiatives.
