Strategic Advisory Council Sees New Appointments

The Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) appointed four new members to its Strategic Advisory Council (SAC). This refresh marks a new two-year term for the council, running from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2028. The new appointees succeed the SAC's inaugural members, who were appointed when the council formed in 2024.

The SAC provides independent, forward-looking guidance on key trends and national priorities shaping financial services and fintech across Singapore and the broader region.

Expertise Across Public and Private Sectors

Incoming council members include Beng Kong, Zeng Yi, Prady, and Zhu Kuang. They contribute deep expertise spanning public-private partnerships, banking, investment, and industry development. Outgoing members who concluded their terms include Ms Ong Chen Hui, Assistant Chief Executive at IMDA, and Mr Soh Leng Wan, formerly Assistant Managing Director at Enterprise Singapore.

Mr Neil Parekh, formerly of Tikehau Capital, and Mr Sanjoy Sen, Group Head of Consumer Banking Group at DBS, also stepped down.

Leadership Continuity Amid Sector Evolution

Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development, continues his role as Patron of the SFA. He also serves as a Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. As Patron, Mr Tan supports the SFA's efforts to drive long-term strategy and growth for Singapore's fintech sector. He champions fintech adoption both domestically and regionally.

The SFA notes the fintech sector's ongoing evolution, driven by rapid developments in artificial intelligence, digital assets, and financial infrastructure.

Driving Future Fintech Strategy for Singapore

The council's refreshed composition demonstrates Singapore's commitment to maintaining its leadership in fintech. The diverse expertise of its new members will help align industry innovation with national strategic objectives. This guidance is particularly relevant as the sector evolves with AI and digital assets.

Fintech firms in Singapore can expect continued strategic support for growth and collaboration. The SFA's work also drives regional fintech adoption, creating opportunities for Singapore-based businesses across Asia.
