Wholesale Fund for Client Portfolios

HLB Private Bank today launched a new multi-asset wholesale fund, developed in collaboration with Lombard Odier. Named the HLB Chief Investment Office Fund, this new offering is intended to serve as a foundational element for constructing client portfolios.

The fund combines investment research expertise from Lombard Odier with HLB's detailed understanding of clients across Singapore and the broader Asian region. This initiative represents a notable step in HLB’s ongoing efforts to enhance its wealth management services, delivering a tailored investment solution for its clientele.

Global Strategy, Regional Focus

The HLB CIO Fund is structured to invest across a diverse range of global instruments, including equities, fixed income, and other asset classes. Its investment methodology incorporates a blend of actively managed funds, passive investments, and direct equity holdings.

Marc Giesbrecht, Deputy Global CIO and Head of Investment Management at Lombard Odier Group, stated that the strategy aligns with Lombard Odier's investment philosophy and House View, integrating their global research and portfolio construction knowledge. This approach aims to deliver resilient and sustainable investment outcomes through various market conditions.

Open Architecture and Income Generation

A key feature of the HLB CIO Fund is its open-architecture approach, which allows HLB to select from an extensive universe of over 50,000 global funds. Beyond capital appreciation, the fund’s strategy also focuses on generating consistent income.

This is achieved through various methods, including dividends from equity holdings, bond coupons from fixed income investments, and systematic options strategies.

Jeffrey Yap, HLB’s Managing Director and Regional Head of Wealth Management, emphasised the fund's strength in delivering elite investment solutions and promoting strategic diversification for long-term portfolio growth.

Why it matters

The launch of the HLB CIO Fund strengthens HLB Private Bank's position in the competitive Asian wealth management sector. By partnering with Lombard Odier, HLB provides its Singaporean and regional clients with access to a sophisticated, globally diversified investment vehicle.

This expansion of product offerings allows wealth managers to better tailor portfolios, potentially attracting new high-net-worth individuals seeking comprehensive, income-generating solutions. For investors, it offers a new avenue for strategic diversification and long-term growth within a structured framework.
