Mynt GCash IPO: Philippines' Largest Listing Raises $967mn
Mynt, operator of the GCash mobile wallet, completed the Philippines' largest-ever initial public offering, raising 60.9 billion pesos (US$966.99 million).
Record Philippine IPO Debut
Mynt, the company behind the GCash mobile wallet, successfully launched its initial public offering (IPO) on Tuesday, marking the largest listing in Philippine history. The fintech firm raised 60.9 billion pesos (US$966.99 million) by selling 8.03 billion shares at an offer price of 6.60 pesos each.
On its market debut, Mynt's shares saw a 0.5 per cent increase, opening at 6.63 pesos per share. This offering surpassed Monde Nissin's 52.2-billion-peso IPO in 2021, according to LSEG-compiled data.
Strong Investor Commitments
The IPO attracted substantial institutional interest, with over 20 cornerstone investors committing approximately US$500 million, representing nearly 60 per cent of the base deal. Among these participants were BlackRock, Citadel, Fidelity International, and the International Finance Corp., as stated by the company.
Mynt plans to use the proceeds from the sale of primary shares to fund the expansion of its digital financial services, product development, and general corporate purposes, as detailed in its IPO prospectus.
GCash Dominance and Financial Health
GCash, the Philippines' leading finance application, is supported by Globe Telecom, Ant Group, and Ayala Corp. The platform provides a comprehensive range of services, including payments, money transfers, lending, savings, investments, and insurance products.
For the three months ending June 30, GCash reported 41.5 million monthly active users, accounting for nearly 56 per cent of the adult population in the Philippines, according to its prospectus. Payment transactions on the platform totalled 9.84 trillion pesos in the first half of 2026.
Mynt's successful IPO and robust financial performance—with net income rising 7.3 per cent year-on-year to 10.82 billion pesos and revenue up 10.4 per cent to 43.27 billion pesos for H1 2026—shows strong investor confidence in the Philippines' digital financial services sector.
The record-setting offering could encourage other fintech firms in Southeast Asia to consider public listings, especially as digital adoption continues to accelerate across the region. Investors will monitor Mynt's execution of its growth plans and its ability to maintain user engagement in a competitive market.
