DBS Hong Kong Launches Vantage Card

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited introduced its new "DBS Vantage Card" on 21 October 2026, marking the city's inaugural Visa Infinite Privilege Card. The product aims to serve affluent clients who seek a unified approach to their wealth, travel, and lifestyle needs.

This offering from DBS Hong Kong combines premium payment options with cross-border convenience and curated experiences, reflecting a growing connection between financial services and personal aspirations for high-net-worth individuals.

Card Offers Cross-Border Privileges

Emily Ip, DBS Hong Kong's Head of Cards and Unsecured Lending, stated the Vantage Card extends the value of the bank's Treasures offering beyond traditional wealth management. It focuses on enriching customers' personal and family lives through daily essentials, travel, and meaningful lifestyle experiences.

This partnership with Visa aims to deliver a relevant and personalised proposition that aligns with customers' wider goals, according to Ms Ip.

Affluent Customers Seek Integrated Solutions

Amy Kwan, Head of Business Planning for Consumer Banking Group and Wealth Management at DBS Hong Kong, noted a rising demand for integrated banking solutions. She explained that affluent customers expect their financial services to support real-life objectives, whether these involve overseas opportunities, family support, or personal experiences.

The "Visa Asia Pacific Affluent Study 2026" supports this trend, showing nine in ten affluent consumers connect wealth with family wellbeing and experiences, while 70% value high-quality experiences and lifestyle enrichment as expressions of wealth.

Market Responds to Changing Wealth Priorities

The introduction of the DBS Vantage Card shows a broader trend within Asia's affluent banking sector. Financial institutions are adapting their strategies to offer more integrated services that blend financial products with lifestyle and travel benefits.

Competitors in key Asian markets such as Singapore and mainland China may need to assess their premium card portfolios to meet these evolving customer demands. This shift focuses on delivering experiential value alongside traditional transactional services.
