China Bank Savings supports 1,200 Philippine educators, offers P50,000 accounts
The Philippine thrift bank provided financial wellness training last month and will award vehicles, including two Mitsubishi Mirages, on October 5.

China Bank Savings Backs Educators
China Bank Savings (CBS), a Philippine thrift bank, expanded its financial wellness initiatives for educators. Last month, the bank provided financial literacy training to approximately 1,200 teaching and non-teaching personnel. These sessions took place across various Department of Education (DepEd) offices and schools. Locations included Cagayan de Oro, Tacloban, and Leyte. CBS President James Christian Dee stated the bank aims to help teachers plan for their future and families.
Financial Literacy Programme Focus
The financial wellness sessions focused on practical knowledge. Topics included understanding personal financial health and managing finances effectively. Participants learned strategies for building long-term financial security. This programme directly addresses financial planning for teachers and school staff. It forms part of CBS's broader engagement with the education sector.
National Teachers’ Day Awards
CBS will participate in the 2026 National Teachers’ Day Culminating Activity on October 5. The bank is providing significant raffle prizes for participating teachers. These include 20 savings accounts, each with an initial deposit of P50,000. Other prizes are 10 Smart TVs, 14 laptops, and 14 motorcycles. Major awards feature two Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles and one Mitsubishi Destinator.
Market Positioning in Philippine Banking
This initiative positions China Bank Savings as a bank invested in community development. By targeting educators, CBS deepens its engagement with a specific professional segment. Such programmes can foster stronger client relationships within the Philippine banking sector. They may also attract new customers seeking banks with a focus on financial education. This approach could differentiate CBS in the competitive Philippine thrift banking market.
